The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is now requiring new information for maritime cargo destined for the United States. DHS published the Importer Security Filing and Additional Carrier Requirements interim final rule, in the Federal Register on November 25, and will require maritime cargo carriers and importers to submit additional data to US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) before vessels are permitted entry into the country.
