Pakistan has welcomed a move by Britain to ban a tribal rebel group waging an insurgency in the southwestern Pakistani province of Baluchistan. The British Home Office said on Monday that it intended to use existing anti-terror laws to ban two international groups, the Baluchistan Liberation Army (BLA) and Teyrebaz Azadiye Kurdistan. The BLA, outlawed by Islamabad in April, has been waging a sporadic revolt in recent years in sparsely-populated Baluchistan to win more political rights and a greater share of profits from natural resources.
