Suspected Islamic insurgents have shot dead a retired government official, a prayer leader and a fruit-seller — all three Muslims — in revolt-hit Indian Kashmir, police said. A retired treasury officer and an imam were shot dead in Nadihal village, near northern Bandipora town, Wednesday night as they returned from an Indian army function. “The two had no political affiliations nor were they informers,” a police officer said. “Maybe they were killed by militants for attending the function.” Full Story
