British troops in Afghanistan ‘not looking for trouble’

The commander of British forces in Afghanistan said that his troops were not going looking for trouble as 3,300 of them moved into the troubled southern Helmand province. Brigadier Ed Butler denied there were plans to tackle insurgency with pre-emptive strikes as the deployment arrived to support reconstruction efforts. Defence Secretary John Reid had said last week that British troops could also stage offensive missions in Afghanistan. Full Story
