The Homeland Security Department’s system for tracking border crossings by foreigners has progressed but key elements of the program have not, senators and federal watchdogs said today. The U.S. Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology (US-VISIT) program has prevented criminal aliens from entering the country and stopped others from trying, said Jim Williams, director of US-VISIT.
