THE latest Bali bombing bears all the signs of terrorist group Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) and a British-educated bomb-maker known as the Demolition Man. Emerging in the late 1990s to fight for an Islamic fundamentalist state across South-east Asia, JI has become known for targeting tourists. The organisation killed more than 200 people in the 2002 Bali bombings. This, and its links to al-Qaeda, have led to an international crackdown on the group and a number of leaders have been arrested. But as with most modern terrorist organisations, cutting off the head of the group has failed to kill off the body, with a number of new leaders taking up the mantle. Full Story
