A car bomb exploded behind a Shiite mosque in southeast Baghdad today, killing at least nine people and wounding 24, Iraqi officials said. The Subeih mosque, some cars and some nearby buildings were heavily damaged, according to officials at the interior and health ministries. The area around the mosque in the New Baghdad neighborhood was closed off by the police, news agencies reported.
