A suspicious package left outside the Mississippi Department of Corrections central records building in Jackson shut down several city streets Tuesday while a bomb squad removed the box. MDOC Commissioner Chris Epps told The Associated Press outside the MDOC Central Records/Hinds County Probation Office that an employee found the “box-sized package” propped against the building’s front door early Tuesday morning. Epps later said the package contained no explosives and appeared to be some type of commercial grade transformer or other industrial equipment. Full Story
