A senior Colombian rebel could face extradition to the United States for the 1997 killing of an American geologist working in Colombia as a mining consultant, a Colombian newspaper reported Sunday. The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, or FARC, took American Frank Pescatore hostage in December 1996, while he was working in the northern Guajira province for a coal company. He was killed in February 1997. Simon Trinidad, a high society banker-turned-rebel, led the Caribbean bloc of the FARC at the time of the killing. Trinidad was captured in January. Full Story
