Jurors in the federal trial of a former American Indian Movement member accused of a 1975 slaying watched a videotape Thursday in which the defendant described taking the victim to South Dakota’s Badlands and watching as she was shot. Arlo Looking Cloud said on the tape he didn’t know another member of the militant group was going to kill Anna Mae Pictou Aquash, who was part of AIM’s 1973 takeover of Wounded Knee. Prosecutors allege Aquash was killed because AIM leaders believed she was a government spy. AIM leaders have denied any involvement in her death. Full Story
