Wife in Surrey, B.C., gathers support for husband who is facing death penalty. Foreign Affairs Minister Bill Graham has appealed to India to grant clemency to a Sikh man sentenced to death for a terrorist attack that killed nine people and injured 29. “I share the concerns of Canadians about the possible application of the death penalty in the case of [Davinder Pal Singh] Bhullar and have conveyed these concerns to my counterpart in India,” Mr. Graham stated in a recent letter to a human-rights group. Mr. Bhullar, 38, is not a Canadian and has never been to Canada. His wife, Navneet Kaur Bhullar, who is also known as Navneet Sandhu, moved to Canada from India in 1994, a year after the terrorist bombing. Full Story
