According to the Russian state news agency RIA Novosti, the Russian Navy has developed, tested, and deployed a new weapon that disrupts vision and can cause hallucinations and vomiting. The weapon, already installed on two Russian warships, reportedly functions by aiming a strobe-like beam of light at a target, reducing their ability to aim in the dark. Around half of the volunteers used to test the weapon reported dizziness, nausea, and disorientation with around 20% reporting hallucinations. Known as the Filin, the weapon will also be installed on additional warships currently under construction.
