The presidential candidate of Ghana’s ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, had a narrow lead over his rival with provisional results in from over half of the 230 constituencies, the electoral commission said on Tuesday. Releasing its first partial results, the commission said Akufo-Addo, with 49.1 percent, was ahead of National Democratic Congress (NDC) opposition leader John Atta Mills, who had nearly 48 percent, with votes counted from 142 of the constituencies.
