Cash-strapped UN cuts rations for hungry Zimbabwe
The United Nations food aid agency has cut the amount of food it hands out to hungry Zimbabweans as it lacks the cash to keep up with the worsening crisis, it said on Tuesday. The World Food Programme (WFP) fed 2 million people in October, the first month of a large-scale aid project. That will double this month and rise to 5.1 million — almost half the population — by early 2009. (Full Story)
