Strong 6.2 earthquake rocks Papua New Guineau
A strong 6.2-magnitude earthquake rocked Papua New Guineau on Thursday, the US Geological Survey said, but there were no immediate reports of casualties or tsunami. The quake struck off Wewak on the main island’s northern coast at a shallow depth of 10 kilometres (six miles) at 8:04 pm (1004 GMT), it said in an alert seen here.
