New set of guidelines for internet service providers

Internet service providers in the UAE will be required to follow a new set of guidelines, which the country’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has issued. The new policy, drawn up after consulting the National Media Council and all licensed ISPs, consists of internet regulations and frameworks. The TRA said the regulations, titled “Internet Access Management”, must be taken into consideration by service providers. Its aim is to ensure internet security and protect end-users from websites containing material contrary to the religious and ethical values of the UAE. Full Story
