Care workers go on strike in Sweden for better salaries
The Swedish health care system was hit by a strike Monday when 2,500 nurses, midwives and radiographers walked off the job at noon after pay negotiations failed. The Swedish Association of Health Professionals has demanded a pay raise of at least 1,700 kronor, or $288, a month for all members this year and next year as well as a minimum entry wage of 22,000 kronor a month, a union spokesman, Tor Enqvist, said Monday.
