China's anti-pollution plan to be implemented on July 20

A plan to improve air quality for the Olympics will be implemented for two months from July 20 and will include factory and construction shutdowns, the Beijing environmental bureau said on Monday. Du Shaozhong, deputy director of the city’s environmental protection bureau, said Beijing also planned to ban cars from the roads during the Games but would announce details later. Full Story
