Records show Spain is heading toward one of its driest springs since weather records began 60 years ago, the Environment Ministry said Tuesday. Precipitation figures published by the ministry showed the national average rainfall so far this year was 2.8 liters per square meter as compared to 12.4, the mean figure since weather record-keeping began in 1930.
