Kosovo’s breakaway from Serbia provoked fresh violence Friday as U.N. police reportedly fired tear gas at Serb demonstrators in northern Kosovo a day after angry demonstrations in the Serbian capital Belgrade left one person dead. The Associated Press said U.N. police fired canisters of gas at 5,000 Serbs trying to cross a key bridge in the ethnically divided city of Kosovoska Mitrovica. Full Story
