Outgoing Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt is set to lead an “emergency” cabinet, with the country still without a new government six months after elections, media reported Monday. Verhofstadt was to meet King Albert II at 11:30 am (1030 GMT) at the royal palace, with Belgian media reporting that the premier could be given powers allowing him to do more than carry out daily business, as is the case now.
