AU to start naval patrols around rebel Comoros island

African Union troops will start Saturday patrolling the waters of Anjouan, a rebel island in the Indian Ocean archipelago of the Comoros that was sanctioned last month, the AU said. A vessel carrying Tanzanian troops will begin patrolling Anjouan’s waters at 11:00 am (0800 GMT), AU officials said at a press conference in Moroni. Full Story
