Pro-Taliban tribesman attacked a Pakistani army check-post in the troubled North Waziristan region on Saturday, killing four soldiers, but 10 militants were killed in the exchange of fire, an army spokesman said. Four members of the security forces were also wounded in the pre-dawn clash in the Dosali area, some 40 km (25 miles) south of Miranshah, the main town of the tribal region bordering Afghanistan, Major-General Waheed Arshad said.
