Government lowers threat level after failed bombings

The government lowered Wednesday its threat level from “critical” to “severe”, where it had been before the weekend’s failed car bombings in London and Glasgow. Home Secretary Jacqui Smith underlined that the decision did not mean the threat had gone away after police arrested eight suspects, mostly foreign doctors, in the wake of the attacks. Full Story
