Iran hopes to start supplying gas to India and Pakistan by 2011 through a proposed $7 billion tri-nation pipe-line connecting the countries, a senior Iranian official said yesterday. “The revenues from the gas sales will be used for general economic development of Iran,” Hajjatollah Ghanimifard, an international affairs director with the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), said after a meeting with Indian Oil Minister Murli Deora.
