Sri Lanka’s navy said it found about 1,000 kilograms (2,200 pounds) of explosives in a truck Friday and arrested a person nearby, in what may have been a planned attack by Tamil Tiger rebels. Sailors found the truck parked in a fishing village near the eastern port town of Trincomalee, 215 kilometers (135 miles) northeast of the capital, Colombo, a top navy official said on condition of anonymity, citing restrictions from his command.
