Metropolitan Police Bureau has stepped up security in Bangkok on Thursday to prepare for violent activities that may be erupted from anti-coup rallies. City police chief Adisorn Nonsi called an urgent meeting with superintendents of 88 police stations in the capital in the morning and has asked them to increase security at important locations and crowded places including embassies and department stores.
