North India lagging behind in attracting investments
Industry body CII on Wednesday said there is a need to combine north Indian states into a common economic region where authorities could cooperate with each other, as the zone lags behind in attracting investments.
With over 30 per cent of population and a contribution of 28 per cent to total GDP, the region holds a vast market potential. But, it is unable to attract huge investments and is performing badly on the Human Development Index, it said. Full Story
