Unidentified gunmen shot dead two people in northern Sri Lanka and security forces killed a suspected Tamil Tiger rebel in the east at the weekend, the military said Sunday. Police recovered the bullet-riddled bodies of two men Sunday in the conflict-torn northern district of Vavuniya, 260 kilometres (160 miles) north of the capital Colombo, officials said.
