Nigeria’s central labour union on Sunday called for a two-day mass protest against last month’s elections, which have been roundly criticised by both local and foreign observers for fraud. The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) said in a statement sent to AFP it would hold “a two-day sit-at-home mass protest before May 29, 2007,” the date at which the current administration hands over to its successors.
