Chilean youths take anger to the streets

A recent rash of violent street protests, largely by youths, have raised concerns in this largely prosperous, generally stable and certainly democratic country.

Driving the trend is an increasingly disenfranchised youth, most of whom have no specific goals other than a shared resentment of society in general. A lax judicial system and media coverage of the violence have been blamed for making the problem worse.
