The armed Basque separatist group ETA said on Sunday it was ready to make new commitments to the troubled peace process if the Spanish state stopped its “attacks” in the Basque region. An interview published in the Basque language newspaper Gara was the group’s first statement since January, when ETA guerrillas claimed responsibility for a car bomb that killed two people at Madrid airport.
