Ugandan officers flew into Somalia on Thursday as the first contingent of an African Union (AU) peacekeeping mission to help the interim government tighten its tenuous grip on the anarchic nation, witnesses said. A cargo plane dropped off 35 uniformed Ugandan officers in the government stronghold of Baidoa early in the morning, customs officer Ali Mohamed Adan said.
