Three dead in blasts in India’s restive Assam state

At least three people were killed and 15 injured in two explosions and a shootout in India’s insurgency-hit northeastern state of Assam, police said. The first blast took place in a busy commercial area in Tinsukia district, 540 kilometres (335 miles) east of Guwahati, Assam’s main city. Police and witnesses said two people died on the spot and 13 were injured in the explosion. Full Story
