Bangladesh’s new interim leader took charge of security agencies and the election commission Sunday, days after the president declared a state of emergency that has brought the arrests of thousands weeks of deadly political protests. Acting leader Fakhruddin Ahmed consolidated his power by taking over the Interior Ministry and the Election Commission, which is currently dictating troop movements.
