Burma releases activists

MILITARY-run Burma today released five pro-democracy activists who were detained in September last year provoking international outcry. “The authorities released all of our five student leaders,” said Min Ko Naing, one of the five freed activists. All were former student leaders who led a failed bloody uprising in August 1988 to demand an end to the military dictatorship. Full Story
