Very intense tropical cyclone Bondo struck the Seychelles as a tropical cyclone at about 00:00 GMT on 22 December. Data supplied by the US Navy and Air Force Joint Typhoon Warning Center suggest that the point of landfall was near 10.3 S, 50.2 E. Bondo brought 1-minute maximum sustained winds to the region of around 166 km/h (103 mph). Wind gusts in the area may have been considerably higher. Full Story
