Police have arrested more than 700 people in connection with a deadly riot that destroyed most of Tonga’s capital in November, police said Thursday. More than 600 of the suspects have been charged with arson, theft and other crimes connected to the violence and looting that erupted in Nuku’alofa on Nov. 16, and the rest are being held for questioning, Police Commander Sinilau Kolokihakaufisi said.
