Emotions run high as India marks attack anniversary
India marked the fifth anniversary of an Islamic militant attack on its parliament with an emotional ceremony amid bitter debate over whether a Kashmiri Muslim man convicted of plotting it should hang. Mohammed Afzal Guru was in 2002 convicted and sentenced to death for plotting the commando-style assault which left 15 people dead, including the five attackers, eight security officials, a gardener and a journalist.
