Philippine police on full alert, despite summit postponement
Despite the postponement of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit, the Philippine National Police has remained on full alert in Cebu City and in Metro Manila in anticipation of the rallies to bestaged by anti-Charter change groups this week, a police official said Monday. Aside from the Police Region Office 7 and the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), the Aviation Security Group, Special Action Force and the Maritime Group are also on full alert, according to Police Director Wilfredo Garcia, chief for the Directorate for Operations.
