Plans drawn up by British emergency services to deal with a so-called “dirty bomb” attack are to be reviewed in light of the poisoning of ex Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko, The Times reported today. Citing police sources, the paper said police officers were not adequately informed of the risks involved in dealing with polonium-210, large quantities of which were found in Mr Litvinenko’s urine, as two police officers working on the case have been contaminated with radioactive poisoning.
