Far-right paramilitary groups pulled out of a peace process with the Colombian government late Wednesday following a decision by President Alvaro Uribe’s administration to transfer jailed militia leaders to a maximum security prison. The peace agreement was thrown into crisis after the government transferred 59 warlords from a relatively comfortable prison to a high-security installation following rumors of a possible prison break.
