Egypt put sites in the southern Sinai peninsula under a high security alert after receiving a tip that four Palestinians were plotting attacks against Israeli tourists in the area, an official said Saturday. Egyptian security forces increased the number of checkpoints along a highway leading to southern Sinai resorts and hotels, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media. Police also were searching for the four Palestinians, who were believed to have illegally crossed the border between Gaza and Egypt in northern Sinai, the official said. Full Story
