Four Indian soldiers and two suspected Islamist militants were killed on Saturday in a fierce gunbattle in restive Kashmir, an army spokesman said. The exchange of fire between the militants and Indian troops broke out late on Friday and was still continuing in the Shopian area, 55 km (35 miles) south of Srinagar, Kashmir’s summer capital, he said.
