Top Japanese and US diplomats have agreed to stand firm against North Korea while seeking a united front from the three other countries negotiating to end Pyongyang’s nuclear program, Japan said. Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Aso and US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice spoke late Tuesday by telephone and agreed the countries would not recognize North Korea as a nuclear power despite its test of an atomic bomb, the Japanese foreign ministry said.
