Hundreds of indigenous protesters are expected to end their two-week blockage of oil production at Argentine crude producer Pluspetrol in Peru’s Amazon region by Saturday morning, the government said on Friday. Premier Jorge Del Castillo told reporters that the parties involved had agreed on a deal that would end the protest at Pluspetrol’s fields, which produce 50,000 barrels per day, or half of Peru’s daily oil production.
