A small private plane with six people aboard has gone missing after losing contact with air traffic controllers, the country’s civil aviation authority said Saturday. The twin-engine Piper Seneca disappeared from radar screens about 20 minutes after taking off Friday night from the city of Vitoria, about 500 miles northeast of Sao Paulo, officials said. Two Brazilian air force jets were sent to the area Saturday to search for the missing plane. An air force lieutenant colonel was piloting the plane, which also carried his wife, two sons and their wives, aviation authorities said. Full Story
