Suspected militants kill Pakistan elder
Suspected Islamic militants killed a tribal elder Sunday in northwestern Pakistan, an intelligence official said, in the latest attack against a tribesman suspected of collaborating with authorities. The U.S. military in Afghanistan, meanwhile, said it will take a “wait and see approach” to a Pakistan-militant truce deal in a nearby tribal area. Malik Dalai was killed in a drive-by shooting near Wana, the main town in South Waziristan, a tribal region bordering Afghanistan, the local intelligence official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the information.
