Sceptical Thai media questioned on Friday the government’s assertion of a plot to blow up Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, but the opposition feared the incident could presage a violent election campaign. “Bomb plot or stunt?” the Bangkok Post asked in a front page headline the day after police showed off ammonium nitrate, TNT, C4 plastic explosive and a remote control circuit they said was found in a car parked near Thaksin’s house in the capital.
