Deadline to keep Britain suspects loom
Detectives faced a deadline Wednesday to apply for more time to question 11 terror suspects still in custody — but not charged — over the alleged plot to blow up as many as 10 trans-Atlantic airliners. Officers were likely to apply to London’s High Court for another seven days to interview the suspects, as investigators continued to gather evidence, a spokeswoman for London’s Metropolitan police said, speaking on condition of anonymity in line with the department’s policy.
